Promotion in Facebook Groups
One of the amazing things that have made Facebook become one of the most used social media platforms is the user-friendliness and availability of wide range of options that you can use to socialize even with people who may not be your followers or friends. Facebook groups are primarily created to bring together different people who share a common interest. Unlike individual accounts/pages, Facebook groups have a potential of attracting a lot of followers which makes them perfect platforms for online marketers to promote your services, websites, affiliate products or whatever else you have in mind.
Note that you can either create a Facebook group where you will be the administrator or you can use an existing Facebook group.
The first option would be much preferable for a company that has created a brand since gaining followers maybe much faster. If you decide to create a Facebook group with a main aim of marketing, there are a number of things that you should do to attract people to your group.
First, the name of the group need to communicate and catch the attention of target audience. Second, you need to look for as many real members as possible and last but not least you need to remain relevant which means you do not just post marketing posts but also trending stories, funny posts and any other things that will keep your followers talking.
The second option which involves the use of an existing Facebook group is much preferable for newbies and affiliate marketers. For better experience in the Facebook group posting, the following tips may come in handy:
- Make thorough research and select at least 5 groups (ideally 10-20) which apart from being always active, also have massive number of members.
- Keep in mind that you are addressing a diversified population. This means that you have to be sensitive to your post wording to avoid sending the wrong signal.
- Finally, you have to be ready to respond to any comment, whether good or bad; remember that potential customers will judge you by the way you respond to some of those queries, you have to sound intelligent and smart.
Risks you are taking when posting in Facebook Groups
As you probably already know, only Facebook profiles can interact with Facebook groups. There’s one exception when Facebook page can post to Facebook group and that’s only when Administrator of the page and group is same Facebook user.
Posting to your own group will not cause you any trouble, but posting to groups that aren’t owned by you could. This is why you need to careful and not post to often, especially if you use just one Facebook profile. With only one Facebook profile, you shouldn’t post to more than 20 groups per day. Each of your posts should be different (different text at least, if possible link too), and delay between two posts should be at least 30 – 60 minutes.
In order to stay safe (avoid getting blocked from posting to groups) and post to more than 20 groups per day, it’s recommended to use multiple Facebook profiles. Most social media marketers that are looking to drive traffic to their websites are using multiple (read: fake) Facebook profiles in order to publish more posts. Some of them use 100’s of profiles and sharing their posts to 1000’s of groups each day which brings them a lot of website traffic, sales, ads clicks, basically it brings them revenue.
Managing 2 or 3 Facebook profiles and posting to 20 groups per day with each of them (40 – 60 posts) requires time and patience. Luckily, there are tools that make our lives easier and do this work for us. Some call them social media assistants, group posters, Facebook posters or Facebook bots. Currently, there is a lot of them on the market, but the one worth mentioning, the social media bot that I liked the most is JARVEE – Social Media Automation Software (Facebook Automation Features).
